Debate #1: Breaking Debate Facts

Well, the debate has come and gone. It was a good debate, all in all... I do believe that the Pres. held is own, but Sen. Kerry did carry himself better and I believe from "appearances" sakes that he won the debate. However, the "facts" convey an entirely different position... you can see all the main "facts" that Sen. Kerry put forth during the debate and the rebuttal put forth at the Presidents website.

Make no mistake about it, most uninformed individuals who watched this debate have walked away with a feeling that "Kerry won"... however, if they would take the time to seriously read this rebuttal they will realize that perhaps the wool is being pulled over our eyes yet again by Sen. Kerry.

Some of the main issues that I think deserve the most thought:
- Sen. Kerry voted for a resolution that would allow U.S. military members to be tried in U.N. criminal courts in the Hague (the Netherlands) by a non-U.S., International body and convicted by said body. Pres. Bush voted against it because it just isn't right!
- Sen. Kerry has quite literally flip-flopped on the Iraq issue 11 distinct times. Don't misunderstand that, it doesn't mean he "approved the war, but not the means, or not the time" or something like that... he has at several different times expressly stated that he approved of the actions being taken at the time they were being taken only to later rescind such support only because it was no longer "popular"
- Sen. Kerry has accused Pres. Bush of not dealing heavy-handidly with the N. Koreans in respect to nuclear technology. He also accuses Pres. Bush of not working with the U.N. enough on issues in Iraq... on one hand he says we should have worked more with the U.N. instead of "go it alone", on the other hand he says we should cancel our multi-national talks with the N. Koreans and enter into uni-lateral talks with them and apply heavier pressure against them uni-laterally... is he for working with the U.N. or isn't he??? I'm confused...
- Same sentiments as above for Iran. We are working with many countries of the world to get these 2 countries to stand-down from developing nuclear technology... isn't that what Kerry fosters, U.N. support??? Maybe only when it can be HIS talking point...

Anyways, take the time to read the entire article, it is VERY INFORMATIVE!
