2006 American Diabetes Walk-a-Thon

Well, the walk was yesterday and Heather and I had a *GREAT* time! The weather was perfect for walking and the crowd was a whole lot larger than we expected! The organization was lacking this year, unfortunately (we heard in years past it's been much better) and we never really had a good idea where we were heading (neither did most anyone else!) -- eventually we all met at the back entrance to the zoo and then things really fell apart... there were *NO* signs telling us what the route was throughout the zoo so we just walked around a bunch until we'd had our fill... up to the zoo I figure we walked about 2.5-3 miles. We might have walked another 2-2.5 miles while we were at the zoo, maybe. Either way it was a great time. There were a whole lot of diabetics there and we got some great information about new laws concerning diabetics as well as a look at some new diabetic products coming out on the market.

To those who donated as well as to those who were unable to but wished that they could have: Thank You for your support! Our main goal in doing this was to help bring diabetes to the front of people's thoughts as well as have a good cause to get out and move our feet for... mission accomplished!

We would like to do this again next year, so if anyone is interested in joining us next year, just holler!

TREVOR!!!! What's up man?!??!?? Hey, I've seen that you've been trying to get a hold of me on classmates.com but I'm too cheap and don't want to pay their subscription fee... hahaha...

Soooo... since you didn't leave an email addy here, I still have no way to contact you... :)

So this is what we'll do... I don't want to leave my email addy here forever... so, if you come back and read this, respond to it and I'll post my email address here that same day... then once you get it, email me back so I can go back and delete my address... ok???

Tchau!

Trevor... I have been trying to email you at that address you submitted but apparently you didn't get it. I tried it again today (12/5)... if you don't get it this time, feel free to submit a reply to this post with your regular email addy and I will just make sure to not publish your reply so that it won't be publicly viewable, ok? Tchau!

Hey good pic's of you two at the Diabetes marathon. Someone messed w/my 'puter, I lost "most used" web-sites, so I had to look up your blog again. Glad to see it's up and going. Tell Trevor "hi" from us, it was GREAT that you told me about him, how he's doing and what he's doing-hope to see him sometime. Glad he finally found you, b/c I tried REALLY hard to find him for your wedding! Tell him he needs to let you find him a wife, b/c you did a REALLY GOOD JOB!!! Love you both! "Mom-onymous" :)
