Tea Party @ The Utah State Capitol
We were there, along with around 2000 others... the photo is quite deceiving as most people are on "top" of the hill and we are sitting towards the "bottom" of it so you can't really see the majority of them... notice, for example, that you can't see the speaker. Additionally, there were large groups to both sides of us as well as behind us.
Here is a very-nicely framed photo of the "sign" we held-up... it's the first Navy Jack flown by Navy ships in the early days of our Republic. It was resurrected after 9-11-2001 and is once again being flown on all U.S. Navy ships. This particular flag was given to me by my ship, the USS Valley Forge (CG-50), as she was being decommissioned. I held it up with great pride at Saturday's rally! The photo was taken by Corie Whalen, the 26-year-old Law student from Boston who put together the nation's first modern tea party. And, yes, that's Heather sitting underneath the flag all swollen with our first baby! :)
